Taylor Alves is a recent graduate from York University and received her B.A in Specialized Honours Psychology in 2024. With concentrations in Counselling and Mental Health as well as Child and Youth Development.
In her honours thesis project, she explored the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on neurodiverse university students under the supervision of Dr. Mary Desrocher. By conducting qualitative research around York University she was better able to discover the impact COVID-19 had on learning and barriers the neurodiverse community faced during that time.
Taylor is a motived and passionate student who strives to gain a deeper understanding of the various interpersonal factors that are involved with psychological disorders. Additionally, she wants to explore the impact of relationships and the role of support of those dealing with SSI.
Ultimately, she aspires to pursue graduate studies in Social Work/Clinical/Counselling psychology to further support mental health in the future.
