Saleena received her Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto in 2023 and her Masters of Medical Science at the University of Toronto in 2026 under the supervision of Dr. George Foussias. Through her research experience, she has worked across a range of mental health populations and settings. As a research coordinator in a University of Toronto lab, she coordinated intervention trials for individuals with psychosis. As a research trainee at CAMH, her masters research focused on socioenvironmental factors associated with outcomes in individuals with psychosis. She has also contributed to projects focused on anti-stigma interventions for borderline personality disorder and digital interventions for opioid use disorder. As a Clinical Psychological Science doctoral student in the TULiP Lab at McGill University, Saleena is interested in understanding how emotional, interpersonal, and social processes shape the impact of trauma and self-harming behaviours. Through this work, she hopes to better understand how these factors influence the development and maintenance of borderline personality disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder, with the goal of improving treatment accessibility and effectiveness.
